Members are asked to film themselves wearing uniform on their front lawn, driveway, loungeroom or balcony to commemorate ANZAC Day. Members should be ready for a 1-minute silence observed at 0600 HRS (6:00am) while standing at attention to remember all those who have served and sacrificed.

An example of how to participate by yourself:

1. Setup a camera or phone to film you and stand at the position of Ease and await 0600HRS.
2. Stand to Attention at 0600HRS and recite The Ode to the camera.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
3. Immediately after reciting The Ode observe 1 minute’s silence while still in the position of Attention.
4. After 1 minute’s silence turn to the right and march off frame of the camera.

An example of how to participate with other household members:

1. Setup a camera or phone to film everyone with you in the centre of the cameras view and stand at the position of Ease and await 0600HRS.
2. Stand to Attention at 0600HRS and recite The Ode to the camera.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
3. Have your household members repeat to you – “We will remember them”
4. You say “Lest we forget”
5. Have your household members repeat to you – “Lest we Forget”
6. Everyone will now observe 1 minute’s silence, you should remain in the position of Attention. Other household members may bow their head.
7. End the video.

Please remember that no clapping should take place at any time while conducting your service. Cadets are not to salute, and hats should not be worn if inside.

Members are welcome to conduct a speech or provide information on fallen family members after points 4 or 7 above, however this is not required.

Videos should be submitted to Mr Allen via email p.allen@aalcentralcoast.com so that all videos can be compiled and published into one video to be sent to Toukley RSL Sub Branch.

Although not encouraged, members who do not wish to be filmed can submit a photo via email to p.allen@aalcentralcoast.com of themselves in uniform on ANZAC Day standing at Attention.

Attendance will be marked by way of submission.
